Curiouser and Curiouser

Hello my faithful readers. If you are reading this I consider you faithful, due to the fact that this is my first blog post.

So...if you continue to read to the end of this post, you are great! Thank you! (Or you are one of my friends or my mom, and I called you up to tell you about my new blog and that you should read it...) And, if you like it, you are in luck because there will be more where this came from. If you don't like it, I don't mind, but you risk a long and lonely fall into the ranks of unfaithful reader...

What I'm trying to say is welcome! I am very excited to have a blog, and hopefully one day I will learn more and have a more unique blog and less of a chose-one-of-the-six-template's type of blog. I can dream!

You are probably all thinking, "Why on earth did Amanda choose the name 'curiouser and curiouser' for her blog? Doesn't she know there are a million blogs with that name?" or  "Good luck spelling curiouser and curiouser correctly more than once." or "Curiouswer and cwuriouswer..."

Well, you would be mostly right! There are several blogs with this name, and I can barely spell it let alone say it! But, once it was in my mind, I decided that it would be a perfect name for my intentions for this blog, and there was no turning back.

It all started with the movie Ondine...it is a movie that I watched recently, and I enjoyed it quite a lot actually! It's a mysterious movie, with a magical storyline, beautiful scenery, and a particularly enjoyable soundtrack. Long story short,  there is a cute little girl, and while the story was unfolding, with it's different twists and turns, she would say, "Curiouser and curiouser.", an Alice in Wonderland quote.

I am not an avid Alice in Wonderland fan, I watched it when I was little, but that is the extent...(sorry to my 'blog name share-er's who are avid fans that I am offending with the previous comment...) the point is, I found great significance in this quote.

Alice says this when she is first in Wonderland (I'm assuming! haha), while she is walking through this strange strange world and seeing strange strange things. And her comment, as she gets further and further is, "Curiouser and curiouser." In my own life, I find that I have many of those moments. Our world is getting stranger and stranger, and I find it very...curious. But also very curious! (The first curious was very quizzical and the latter was very excited!)

For example:

"Why on earth is it acceptable to be nude in music video's on daytime T.V.??" (Quizzical)

and "There is so much beauty and good to be found, even in Toronto!!" (Excited)

And there you have it, I will be taking note of the many adventures, findings, questions, challenges, and joys that happen in my daily life, and writing my thoughts on them!

I hope you are as excited as I am,

Amanda

Remember that particularly enjoyable soundtrack I mentioned? Here's one I can't get out of my head, just for you: Braille by Lisa Hannigan
